Made in America Lighting Since 1988

L.A. Lighting is proud to be one of the last true Made in America lighting manufacturers. Every product we offer, from cleanroom fixtures to troffers to LED retrofit kits, is designed and built at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in El Monte, California, just east of downtown  Los Angeles. When people talk about bringing back American manufacturing, we like to remind them: we never left!

For a look at our factory, check our video. Or reach out to us next time you’re in Los Angeles-  we’d love to show you around.

About BABA and BAA Compliant Lighting

Every standard product L.A. Lighting sells complies with BABA and BAA requirements for lighting products. Unlike with other manufacturers, you don’t have to worry about selecting from a limited number of products, or adding a special suffix to your part number. With the exception of certain configurations requiring specialty components, if we offer it, it qualifies.

Under the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA), certain federally funded projects must use materials and products that are manufactured in the United States. For lighting fixtures, this means that all manufacturing processes for the fixture—such as fabrication, assembly, and final production—must occur domestically. Additionally, more than 55% of the components (by cost) must also be sourced from the U.S. to qualify as BABA-compliant.

The Buy American Act (BAA) applies to U.S. federal government purchases and requires that products, including lighting fixtures, be manufactured in the United States. BAA allows for certain exceptions and waivers, especially when domestic sourcing is impractical or significantly more expensive.

We’re happy to provide a letter of BABA or BAA certification for your next project. Simply contact our experienced customer service team to learn more.
